Coffee Cocktails to Help You Survive Daylight Saving Time

Although most people believe daylight saving (not savings) time was created to help farmers, it was first enacted in 1918 as a way to save coal. The farmers actually fought it because it meant they had less daylight time in the morning to milk their cows! I often feel like fighting it as well. Who wants to get up an HOUR earlier? That first Monday morning wake up can be brutal and you feel it all day long. I am much more partial to that wonderful day we call ‘Fall Back’. To help us all out we collected our favorite COFFEE cocktails that, I think the rule says, you can drink any time you want that first Monday after Spring Forward…
The Wake up Call
2oz HDC Vanilla Vodka
1oz HDC Citrus Vodka
1oz Coffee
1oz Milk

Pour all ingredients over ice in shaker. Shake and strain into coupe glass filled with ice. Garnish with 3 coffee beans

Coconut Dream

1oz HDC Coffee Vodka
1oz HDC Coconut Vodka
1oz Coffee
1oz Cream
1/8t coffee grounds

Fill glass with ice, add liquid ingredients and stir. Dust top with coffee grounds.

Raspberry Truffle
1oz HDC Raspberry Vodka
1oz HDC Coffee Vodka
1/2oz Coffee

Pour all ingredients over ice in shaker. Shake and strain into champagne glass. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings

Coffee Old Fashioned

2oz Elk Rider Bourbon
1oz Chilled Coffee
1/2oz simple syrup
2 dashes orange bitters

Pour simple syrup and bitters in tumbler. Fill glass with ice, add liquid ingredients and stir once. Dust top with white chocolate shavings

One last strange fact: The US dept of TRANSPORTATION is in charge of time- time zones, and daylight saving time. Perhaps also time travel… since they are the Dept of Transportation…
