Did you know that Cinco de Mayo is a more celebrated holiday in the US than it is in Mexico? I didn't. In Mexico it is a relatively minor holiday commemorating the Mexican Army's 1862 battle victory of France during the Franco-Mexican War. It's not a Mexican federal holiday so for many citizens it is just another day. However, in the US we have turned it into a day to celebrate Mexican culture and heritage. We celebrate with parades, mariachi music, Mexican folk dances and the eating of traditional Mexican foods and beverages (this might be my favorite part...) This last weekend we had a great celebration at our Waterfront location in Gig Harbor for our Spirits Club and Cask Club members where we served some Vodkaritas worthy of any Cinco de Mayo celebration! HDC Vodkarita
2oz HDC Lime Vodka
4oz Demitri's Margarita Mix
pour over ice
Garnish with a lime wedge Seriously- what could be easier than that.
Complete your meal with Chipotle BBQ & Whiskey Chicken Tacos from @c.r.a.v.i.n.g.s that feature Dual Barrel Bourbon.
