Boozy Baking part 3: Side Dishes

Spending a lot of time with your relatives this Thanksgiving? Here is a way to bring a little something extra to the table this year! Baking with spirits (Boozy Baking) is an easy way to add a unique flavor to your Thanksgiving favorites.

Cranberry sauce

1 12oz bag fresh cranberries
½ peeled granny smith apple, finely chopped
1C sugar
Orange peel
½ C Juice of 1 fresh orange
½ C HDC Blood Orange Vodka
½ t cinnamon
½ t nutmeg
2-3 cloves

Put all ingredients in pot, simmer on stove over low heat until cranberries burst and liquid reduces

Mashed potatoes are a classic for any Thanksgiving feast. This recipe is going to take your family recipe up a notch and have everyone saying ‘mmmmm…!’

Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
Make mashed potatoes and gravy with your usual recipe.
Add 2T D’s Seasoned Vodka to each

You always thought you hated them as a child. The name alone could make you queasy. But then you grow up and give them a try and wonder how you could have been missing out all these years. It’s true, the trendiest vegetable out their is BRUSSEL SPROUTS. And what possibly could make those Brussel sprouts better- BACON!!!!

Bacon Brussel Sprouts
1lb Brussel sprouts
1T olive oil
8-10 slices cooked bacon, chopped
2 diced garlic cloves
2T HDC Bacon Vodka
1/4C chicken broth

Add olive oil and garlic to skillet on medium heat. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add brussel sprouts and sear for 1 minute. HDC Bacon Vodka and chicken broth. Cover and cook until tender (12-14 min). Drain liquid from pan, add bacon and serve.
